Job Interview

So, I had this job interview tonight. I was offered the job on the spot, and am totally taking it. They're going to take me a couple weeks early to keep me from being homeless - and they're giving me a fat grand when I move in. Also, I'll be going to Japan soon to get a new visa. The building is a touch opulent. Koreans totally kick ass at design. In the lobby, they have a cappuccino machine, so I totally slurped on an iced coffee through the interview.

Which job was this--the private school or the businessman thing.

Wow, you move quickly. Hopefully, this job will be infinitely better than your previous one. Does this change how long you might be in Korea?

Ooh, congrats on securing gainful employment (again). I think you'll miss the chittlins, though.

Indeed, I'll miss the chittlins - also, M-, good to see that you're adjusting to life in the South. Chittlins is especially Louisiana-specific, just don't use that word when dining out. Now, my current employer wants me to stay until the 27th. However, they can lick every fold of my scrotum (too vivid?)
Wednesday, a supervisor told me they might replace me as soon as the 12th. Yesterday, another supervisor said that they want me until the 27th, whereas I've already agreed to stay until the 20th. She said that the kindie moms are going to be upset when I leave. And that the kids are all going to cry. Which - being the softy that I am - means I'm going to cry. It'll be a sad day, but I've gotta put myself first finally, and I really won't be able to tolerate that place any longer than the 20th. Plus, I've gotta go to Japan and get my stuff sorted before I move in on the 30th. New boss is happy to store my bags and things, so I'm just going to be nomadic for ten days. xo

Shan: This is the businessmen thing. Not the 3 month's vacation that the private school affords, but also I'll be working fewer hours with the businessmen and still will have 4-5 weeks off. Also, the housing is pretty sweet, and the businessmen will take you out to kickass lunches and dinners pretty often. And, I'll be teaching exclusively adults, which means I won't have to usher people to the ban~o between classes.

Val: This does change how long I'll be in Korea. Contracts are a year long here, so I'll be obligated to stay a year from my starting date (the 30th of October). However, this boss offers some really sweet perks, including - I'm told - flying you home for a week over xmas. So, and don't take this personally, I may tell them that my folks just moved to Australia and go there instead. Or I may just stay here. Jebus love neon here. Lutherans missionized the fuck out of this place in the 19th century - and currently the LDS - so I'm a touch curious about how they do Christmas. Or I might just go home, it's just that I'm not exactly homesick yet.

My new job may finally afford me the leisure time to open up the website www.mormonsonbicycles.com that I've been talking about for years (when drunk).
